End of First Week!

Well my first week of school is over! I'm so happy it is the weekend! Classes have been interesting; most of them gave lots of homework. I really like my classes even with the work because each of them start out with prayer and devos. A completely different atmosphere than what I'm used to, but it makes school easier to handle. My flight science class is going to be a lot of work...I believe our teacher put it like this, "It's going to feel like your'e drinking from a fire hydrant." So that is going to be a rough class.

My flight science class has a lab that goes with it where we practice on simulators. Yesterday was my first time and we practiced taking off. It was a lot harder than I thought. To be honest I felt a bit discouraged after I left that class because I couldn't seem to catch on quite as fast as some others in our class. I know it is only the first time I've done it, but it is still frustrating. I was just practicing before writing this and I still did bad. But I will be practicing a lot over the weekend because we are getting graded on it on Tuesday! So, I'm going to need prayer for that please!

I am having a great time getting to know the girls on my floor, people in my classes, and our brother floor. In case you are thinking, "what's a brother floor?" I'll tell you:) Our floor and a floor of one of the guys dorms are brother and sister floors. Basically we just hang out and eat together. It's a good way to get to know other people! The other day we had all school communion and our brother floor came to escort us to the chapel. I figured that meant they were coming over to walk our group...but i was wrong :) Apparently, they really meant that they wanted to escort us! Individually! When one of the guys came up and asked if I was ready to go, and I didn't grab his arm, he was a bit confused. Then I realized "OH! You are actually going to escort us!" and so we continued to walk to the chapel. Lol quite a mix up!

We have a class here for every incoming freshman called cornerstones: a welcome-to-college kind of class. I am really liking our group! Once again a chance for me to get to know people and make more friends...which is what I want! :) And I just found out that we get to go on a camping trip with our group overnight and I'm very excited! However, on the night we are leaving, I had a free ticket to go to a Shawn McDonald concert and I really wanted to go to the concert. So it's going to be a bittersweet night unfortunately! But it should be a really fun time!

As of right now, I can't really think of anything else that has been going on. So I will end this post! :) I love you all and wish that I could come home and camp out for Labor Day! haha I hope you all have a great weekend! I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU!

Prayer Requests:
-I can get the hang of the simulators (especially on tuesday when I am graded)
-still the girl on my suite who lost her friend
-and that I can get all my homework done this weekend :)

Thank you to all of you for praying and supporting and loving me!

Well classes are going to start tomorrow for everyone...except me! haha I don't have any classes scheduled for tomorrow! It will be a nice break in my week once things really get rolling! I am actually wanting classes to start because then I will have something to do! (I never thought I would say that before:)) Anyway I was thinking that I would start putting up prayer requests that I have so if you would like you could pray for! A few that I have now are
-that classes would go smoothly and I will be able to push myself to work hard!
-there is a girl in my suite that had a friend just pass away a few days ago and she is struggling so pray for comfort and peace for her
-that I would grow so much more in my walk with Christ
-and that my suite mates will all get along and become more comfortable with each other!

Last night all of the girls in my suite got together to play spoons and it was a really good time to bond. I like all the girls! They are laid back and fun and different which I love! I think we will all get along really well...We decided that we are going to have "spoons" night and name a spoons player of the week each week:) We even talked about getting a spoons trophy to display but we'll see if we can find one of those! haha

Well I love you all and I really appreciate all of your support and love. Hope things are going great back home and today is BRITTANY'S BIRTHDAY so make sure to tell her (I told you Brit I wouldn't forget) :) Love you all! Feel free to call or whatever anytime!

Love, Monica
